When you create a Dukhdaa account, we collect:

• Email Address
• Password (stored in encrypted form)
• Mobile Number
• Date of Birth
• Gender
• Country and City

1.2 Social Login Information

If you sign up or log in using a third-party service (Google, Facebook, or Apple), we receive your name and email address from that service. We do not receive or store your social media passwords.

1.3 User-Generated Content

We store the content you create on Dukhdaa, including:

• Confessions, Stories, Feelings, and Questions you post
• Comments on posts
• Likes and reactions
• Chat messages
• Feedback and reports you submit

1.4 Device Information

To deliver push notifications and improve app performance, we collect:

• Device Token (for push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging)
• Device Name and Manufacturer
• Operating System and Version
• App Version

1.5 Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the app, including:

• Posts you view, like, comment on, or bookmark
• Users you follow, block, or report
• Category and tag preferences you select
• Last login time

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide our services: Create and manage your account, display your posts, enable chat, and deliver notifications.
• Personalize your experience: Show content relevant to your country, interests, and selected categories.
• Send notifications: Notify you about likes, comments, new followers, and other activity on your posts. You can control which notifications you receive in your settings.
• Ensure safety: Detect, investigate, and prevent harmful behavior, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
• Improve our services: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.

3. Anonymity and Your Identity

Dukhdaa is designed with anonymity in mind. When you post a Confession, Story, Feeling, or Question, other users see only your chosen username and avatar. Your real name, email, phone number, and other personal details are never displayed publicly on the platform.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data in the following situations:

• With your consent: When you explicitly agree to share information.
• For legal reasons: If required by law, legal process, or government request.
• To protect safety: To prevent fraud, abuse, or threats to safety.
• Service providers: With trusted third-party services that help us operate (e.g., Firebase for push notifications). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.

5. Push Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications. You can customize which notifications you receive, including:

• New post notifications
• Post like notifications
• Comment notifications
• Follow/Unfollow notifications
• Block/Unblock notifications

You can disable push notifications entirely or selectively from your notification settings within the app.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We implement industry-standard measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted password storage
• JWT token-based authentication
• Secure HTTPS connections

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data, though some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., preventing fraud).

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Update: Correct or update your account information at any time through the app.
• Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Control notifications: Manage your notification preferences in the app settings.
• Block users: Block any user to prevent them from interacting with you.

Dukhdaa is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. The app includes age-appropriate content filtering features.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting a notice within the app. Your continued use of Dukhdaa after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
